About XSF

XSF is a free first person shooter framework for Roblox, made by Xypher. It gives a Roblox game real projectile bullets that the server checks, recoil players can learn, hands that actually hold each gun, and a website where you can set it all up without writing code. This page has the plain facts.

What is original, and what comes from ACS

ACS (Advanced Combat System) 2.0.1 is an older gun kit that many Roblox shooters were built on. Its gun models, attachment models and animations are public. XSF can use those assets, so a game made with ACS can switch without remaking its guns.

Everything that runs the game is XSF's own code: the projectile ballistics and wall penetration, the server side hit checks with lag compensation, the recoil patterns and free aim, the hand rig whose fingers close around each gun, the knives, the hotbar and backpack, the loadout screen, downed and revive, the player settings menu and the website dashboard. Most of its 59 weapons are XSF's own additions, including every weapon added in 2.0. None of the ACS scripts are used. See the full comparison.

Questions

Is XSF a copy or reupload of ACS?

No. XSF has its own code, written from scratch. ACS 2.0.1 is an older Roblox gun kit whose 3D models and animations are public. XSF can use those assets, so games built on ACS can move over without remaking their guns, but none of the ACS scripts are used. The ballistics, server hit checks, recoil, hands, hotbar, menus and the website dashboard are all XSF's own.

Who makes XSF?

Xypher, a Roblox developer who posts as Xypher_TheDev on the Roblox DevForum. XSF is published by Beirut Sites.

Is XSF finished?

XSF is in active development and ships regular updates. Every change is listed in the patch notes.

Is a video I found about XSF official?

Only if it comes from this website, the XSF Discord or the official XSF DevForum thread. Videos elsewhere that use the XSF name, including ones that call it the worst or best framework, are not made by the XSF team and may not show XSF at all.

Where do I get help?

In the XSF Discord at discord.gg/W8mWeGqMeJ. The docs at xsfshooter.vercel.app/docs cover every option and every error message.
